Operations Manager

United Kingdom or Canada · Full-time · Reports to COO & Co-Founder

About the Role

You're the person who makes sure money actually moves. When a client books a trade, someone needs to ensure it settles on time, the banking partner processes it, and exceptions get resolved before the client even notices. That someone is you.

This isn't a back-office admin role with a checklist. You'll coordinate with banking partners across multiple jurisdictions, handle escalations, solve problems in real-time, and build the operational processes that let us scale without things falling apart. If the platform is the engine, you're keeping it running.

What You'll Actually Do

  • Manage daily payment operations: trade booking, settlement, reconciliation.
  • Coordinate with banking partners for payment processing across multiple currencies and corridors.
  • Handle payment exceptions and failed transfers — find out what went wrong and fix it fast.
  • Build and document standard operating procedures that actually get followed (not 50-page manuals nobody reads).
  • Monitor payment corridors and flag issues: delays, rate discrepancies, partner outages.
  • Be the bridge between clients, banking partners, and internal teams when things need to get resolved.
  • Report on operational metrics: settlement times, exception rates, SLA adherence.

Who We're Looking For

  • 3-5 years in operations at an FX broker, payments company, bank, or MSB. You've seen money move and know what happens when it doesn't.
  • You understand international payment flows — SWIFT, SEPA, local payment rails.
  • You've done reconciliation and know the pain of a mismatched settlement.
  • You're calm under pressure. Payments don't wait for you to figure things out.
  • Strong communication skills. You'll talk to clients, banking partners, and colleagues across time zones daily.
  • You're organised. If you can't track 20 things at once without dropping any, this role will eat you alive.

Bonus

  • Experience at a company like Currencies Direct, WorldFirst, OFX, Ebury, or similar.
  • Knowledge of multi-currency treasury operations.
  • Understanding of FINTRAC or FCA regulatory requirements in payments.

Compensation

Competitive salary. UK or Canada based.
